Vert

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Vert (“we”, “us”) is a small, invite-only pilot that recommends trail-running routes in Marin County. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

How we use it

To provide and improve the recommendations, personalize pace estimates from your Strava history, and operate and secure the pilot. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads. We do not use your Strava data to train, develop, or improve any artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, and your Strava activity data is never sent to our AI provider.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us operate, under their terms: Strava (the activity data you connect), Anthropic (processes your prompt text — not your Strava data — to understand your request), Mapbox (maps), and Vercel and Neon (hosting, database, and sign-in). Weather shown in the app comes from NOAA using the route’s location, not yours. We do not sell or share your data for advertising.

Retention and deletion

You can disconnect Strava at any time — either from within the app or by revoking access from your Strava settings. Either way we revoke the app’s access and permanently delete the tokens, your 90-day activity summary, and anything derived from your Strava data (such as personalized pace estimates) from our systems within 30 days — in practice, right away. You can request deletion of your entire account and all associated data by emailing support@vert.monster; we complete such requests within 30 days. We keep data only as long as needed for the pilot.

Security

We store your data in a managed database and take reasonable measures to protect it, but no system is perfectly secure.

Your choices

You can disconnect Strava, stop using the app, or request deletion at any time.
